FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you do not see your concern on this list, please feel free to send us an email at preservingproviders@gmail.com.
How do I find someone to interview?
Chances are, you joined this organization because you feel a personal connection to journalism and/or caregiving. If you are interested in our mission but don't know how to start, please reach out to us at preservingproviders@gmail.com and indicate your interview preferences (phone call, Zoom meeting, or in-person). Our staff are constantly working to find new caregivers to interview and we will do our best to set you up with an interviewee as soon as possible.
Am I allowed to interview family members?
The short answer: Yes. The long answer: We must carefully abide to laws of journalistic integrity. Our organization's primary aim is to raise interest in journalism and foster empathy for caregivers. That being said, when interviewing people we PERSONALLY know, we must watch out for factors such as unconscious bias or feeling justified to edit or tweak quotes "because you know them."
